Let me explain what I do...

Decolonising Conservation

Consultant, Analyst and Researcher

I'm an ecologist aiming to reverse the colonial divide imposed throughout history, exploring decolonial approaches to conservation and sustainable development.

I am one of 3 co-founders of CaJu Consultoria Nordestina, a consultancy specialising in designing and managing projects in diversity and socio-environmental development, strengthening relationships between our clients and strategic partners and preparing teams to work in the field without reproducing structural prejudices.

This includes analysing the ecological impact of projects through biocultural environmental impact assessments and carbon measuring. I am always proposing and designing research projects directed towards supplying more and more irrefutable evidence to be used in legislative procedures and public policy design.

Democratising Knowledge

University-level education is rarely a right, as opposed to a privilege offered to very few. Utilising social media, I aim to democratise knowledge by supplying digestable and accessible information surrounding my master's degree in Global Biodiversity Conservation.

Pluriversal Perspectives

The Pluriverse is described by activists and academics such as the Zapatistas and Marisol de la Cadena as 'a world of many worlds'. Colonial domination has historically homogenised diverse communities, causing epistemicide. This cultural erasure initiated the anthropogenic caused biodiversity loss we are so desperately aiming to prevent today. In other words, the science of Modernity dominating traditional knowledge and severing connections to land.

Exploring diverse perspectives and knowledge systems in relation to conservation and climate change, I help organise knowledge production that embraces pluriversal perspectives, as opposed to dominating one way of knowing with another.

Refugee & Climate Crisis Awareness & Art

I am that person that will drop the capitalism/colonialism card in every conversation. I am a passionate advocate for refugees and migrants, looking to raise awareness through animated storytelling, shedding light on the experiences of refugees, their resilience, and the need for compassionate and inclusive responses. This can also look like creating animations that highlight innovative solutions to the climate crisis such as showcasing ethical renewable energy technologies, sustainable agriculture practices, and community-led initiatives. Ultimately, using animation to create visual narratives to inform, that challenge eurocentric/dominant narratives and promote a more inclusive and equitable approach.
